Ulee's Gold is a 1997 drama written and directed by Victor Nuñez, starring Peter Fonda as Ulee Jackson, a widowed Vietnam veteran and tupelo-honey beekeeper in Wewahitchka, Florida. Ulee is raising his granddaughters while his son is in prison, and is drawn into danger when his son's former accomplices come looking for stolen money. The film was shot in the Florida Panhandle, with a local third-generation beekeeping family serving as consultants and extras. Jessica Biel and Patricia Richardson co-star. Fonda won a Golden Globe and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, a role that revived his career.
