Smithsonian Folkways is the nonprofit record label of the Smithsonian Institution, created when the Smithsonian acquired Moses Asch's Folkways Records in 1987 and pledged to keep all 2,168 Folkways titles in print. It has since added the Cook, Monitor, Paredon, and other catalogs and released more than 300 new recordings.
