Rural Rhythm Records
Labels / Record Companies
Rural Rhythm Records was founded in 1955 in Arcadia, California, by "Uncle" Jim O'Neal as a mail-order label. It sold LPs for $3.50 with 20 songs apiece, at a time when major labels charged more for about 12. After O'Neal's death, Sam Passamano bought the label in 1987. Now based in Nashville, Rural Rhythm reissues its archive through the Heritage Collection and has signed contemporary bands such as the Lonesome River Band and Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out.
