Prime Cuts of Bluegrass
Labels / Record Companies
Prime Cuts of Bluegrass was a radio promotion service. Kirk and Becky Brandenberger launched it on July 15, 1992, through their company KBC Music, originally based in Owensboro, KY. Six times a year it mailed bluegrass DJs and program directors around the world a compilation CD of 12 to 15 new tracks chosen by labels and artists. It was one of the main ways independent bluegrass releases reached radio. The Brandenbergers eventually left the business, which was sold and renamed New Cuts of Bluegrass.
