Mark O’Connor

Mark O'Connor (born August 5, 1961) is an American fiddler, composer, and teacher from Seattle who won national fiddle championships as a child and recorded his first albums as a young teenager. He became one of Nashville's busiest session players in the 1980s, and was named the Country Music Association's Musician of the Year six years in a row. He later turned to composing concert works and, with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer, made the Appalachia Waltz recordings. He has won several Grammy Awards and created the O'Connor Method for teaching violin.
