M.R. Records

M.R. Records was bassist Missy Raines's own label, which she used to release her first solo album, My Place in the Sun, in 1998. The record was named IBMA Instrumental Recording of the Year and was one of the Chicago Tribune's top 10 records of 1998. That same year Raines became the first woman to win IBMA Bass Player of the Year, an award she has since won ten times. She later recorded for Pinecastle, Rounder, and Compass.
