Louise Scruggs
Louise Scruggs (born Anne Louise Certain, November 7, 1927 – February 2, 2006) was an American music manager and booking agent, and the wife of Earl Scruggs. Beginning in the mid-1950s she managed Flatt & Scruggs, and later Earl's own career. She steered the band toward the folk revival and college audiences, booking appearances such as the 1959 Newport Folk Festival and Carnegie Hall in 1962. She was among the first women to manage a major act in country or bluegrass music, and historians have called her a pioneering businesswoman of bluegrass.
