Laurie Lewis and Her Bluegrass Pals
Bands / Ensembles
Laurie Lewis and Her Bluegrass Pals (1999–2006) was a bluegrass band from the San Francisco Bay Area led by fiddler, singer and songwriter Laurie Lewis. The band took its name from Lewis's 1999 Rounder Records album. Its lineup was Lewis on fiddle and guitar, her longtime musical partner Tom Rozum on mandolin, Craig Smith on banjo, Mary Gibbons on guitar, and Todd Phillips on bass. Lewis didn't renew her Rounder contract after the album, and for several years she recorded mostly duets with Rozum. In 2006 she renamed her band Laurie Lewis & the Right Hands, keeping Rozum, Smith and Phillips and adding Scott Huffman on guitar.
