Larry Stephenson Band
Bands / Ensembles
The Larry Stephenson Band (1989–present) is a bluegrass band led by mandolinist and high-tenor singer Larry Stephenson. Stephenson, who grew up in King George, Virginia, had spent more than four years with Bill Harrell and the Virginians and five years with the Bluegrass Cardinals before forming his own band on February 10, 1989. He moved the band to Nashville in 1992. The lineup has changed often. Banjo players have included Bill Emerson, Kristin Scott Benson, Aaron McDaris, Dale Vanderpool, Kenny Ingram and Derek Vaden. Other members have included bassists Mickey Harris and Matt Wright, fiddler Jason Barie, and guitarists Dustin Benson, Kevin Richardson and Nick Dauphinais.
