Larkin Family

Bands / Ensembles

The Larkin Family was a bluegrass family band from Church Hill, Tennessee, led by Lowell Larkin (guitar, baritone vocals) and his wife, Barbara Larkin (banjo, piano). The couple's three daughters played in the band. The eldest, Rachael, played for a time but didn't pursue a music career. Shaunna (born 1982) played fiddle and sang lead and harmony, and Kristina, known as Tina (born 1984), played mandolin and sang lead. The Larkin Family played bluegrass festivals across the country since at least 1988 and were regulars at the Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Shaunna and Tina later formed the country duo the Larkins, whose self-titled debut came out on Audium in 2003.
