Kim Koskela
Kim Koskela, later Kim Clauson, is a banjo player who founded the Wildwood Girls, an all-woman bluegrass band. She started the group at age 16 in the Chicago area as the Wildwood Pickers, with Robin Koskela, guitarist Muriel Anderson and fiddler Kathy Jones. The band took its name from the Carter Family song "Wildwood Flower" and became the Wildwood Girls in 1982. It later moved to Speedwell, Tennessee, performed regularly at Dollywood, and made overseas tours for the USO and the U.S. Department of Defense. Koskela was the only original member to stay through the band's whole run. The group released six albums on its own label before breaking up in 1999.
