Fiddlin’ John Carson
Fiddlin' John Carson (March 23, 1868(?) – December 11, 1949) was an American fiddler and singer from north Georgia whose 1923 OKeh recording of "The Little Old Log Cabin in the Lane," produced by Ralph Peer in Atlanta, is often called the first commercially successful country music record. A star of Atlanta radio station WSB and a regular winner at the Georgia Old-Time Fiddlers' Conventions, he recorded extensively through the 1920s, often with his daughter Rosa Lee as "Moonshine Kate."
