Felice Bryant

Felice Bryant (August 7, 1925—April 22, 2003) was born Matilda Genevieve Scaduto in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she sang on local radio and performed at USO shows. She formed a professional songwriting partnership with her husband, multi-instrumentalist Boudleaux Bryant, after relocating to Georgia and later to Nashville, Tennessee. The duo achieved their debut commercial hit in 1948 with Little Jimmy Dickens' recording of "Country Boy." They composed material for acoustic and roots music performers, including the 1967 bluegrass standard "Rocky Top" and the Everly Brothers' "Bye Bye Love" and "Wake Up Little Susie." She was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1991.
