Ed Cunningham

Ed Cunningham is a bluegrass and country mandolinist, fiddler and singer based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has played bluegrass with the Ohio Valley Rounders and with Kentucky 31, alongside Terry Boswell, and country with the New Radio Cowboys. He also played mandolin in Trina Emig's later band. He helped start the weekly Bluegrass Sundays at the Comet, a bar in Cincinnati's Northside neighborhood. He fronts the Comet Bluegrass All-Stars, who have played there every Sunday since 1996. The series led to a compilation CD of Cincinnati-area bluegrass performers, and the All-Stars appeared with Rosanne Cash on the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra album Originals. He wrote songs with Katie Laur, including one used in the film Last Train. He also hosted Torch and Twang, a program on radio station WNKU. Outside music, he headed building code enforcement for the City of Cincinnati.
