Dottie Eyler

Dottie Eyler (died 2013) was a bluegrass guitarist and singer who co-founded the Carroll County Ramblers of Taneytown, Maryland, with her husband, mandolinist Leroy Eyler. The couple played bluegrass and country together from the late 1950s and formed the band in 1961. She played guitar, sang lead and harmony, and wrote songs the band recorded. The Ramblers toured nationally, recorded more than a dozen albums and ran their own festival. The band's 1972 lineup included banjo player Chris Warner and fiddler Dave Lightcap. She continued the band after Leroy's death in 1995 with their children, Bonnie Eyler Young on bass and Dale Eyler on fiddle, and retired from performing in 2010. The band celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011 and received a proclamation from the State of Maryland in 2012.
