Danny Bailey
Danny Bailey (December 1, 1919—March 22, 2004) was an American bluegrass guitarist and tenor vocalist. Born in Happy Valley, Tennessee, he pioneered early duo harmony vocal techniques alongside his mandolinist brother, Charlie Bailey, in The Bailey Brothers. He formed their backing group, the Happy Valley Boys, in 1941 to perform on regional radio after his brother entered military service. He relocated the ensemble to Nashville in 1944, becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry where he was, at the time. the venue's youngest featured act leader ever. He performed extensively on major regional broadcasts, including the Wheeling Jamboree on WWVA, before chronic health issues limited his touring career after 1954.
