Country Store
Bands / Ensembles
Country Store (1973–1975) was a bluegrass band from Virginia, formed by mandolinist Jimmy Gaudreau with guitarist and singer Keith Whitley, banjo player Carl Jackson and bassist Bill Rawlings. It was first called the New Tradition before changing its name to Country Store. Jimmy Arnold later replaced Jackson on banjo, and Chris Stifel replaced Whitley on guitar. The band recorded two albums. One was a live recording made at Bill Grant's bluegrass festival in Hugo, Oklahoma, in 1973, with Alan Munde of Country Gazette filling in on banjo for an ill Jimmy Arnold. The other was a self-titled album on Rebel in 1974. The band broke up in 1975.
