Cornerstone was a bluegrass band from Ithaca, New York, led by banjo player and songwriter Chris Stuart. Cornerstone recorded its first CD, Maggie's Daughter, in February 1992. In the fall of 1993 it signed with the Folk Era label, and a new lineup, with fiddler and singer Dee Specker replacing Pam Daley and guitarist Tim Wallbridge joining, recorded the album Out of the Valley, released in 1994. The band's lineup in the mid-1990s was Stuart, Specker, Wallbridge, Rick Manning on mandolin and fiddle, and Dana Paul on bass.
