Bonnie Modena Dodd

Bonnie Modena Dodd (January 9, 1914—November 2, 1984) was a country songwriter and steel guitarist. Raised in rural Saline County, Arkansas, she began performing on regional radio during her youth before joining Jimmie Davis's band. Dodd worked as a permanent steel guitarist for Tex Ritter's Country and Western Orchestra throughout the 1940s. Her career milestones include writing Ritter's 1945 number-one hit "You Will Have to Pay" and co-writing "I Dreamed of an Old Love Affair" alongside Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell. Her 1930s National resonator guitar is preserved on display within the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
