Bill "Cousin Wilbur" Wesbrooks

Willie Egbert "Bill" Wesbrooks (March 5, 1911 – August 13, 1984), known as Cousin Wilbur, was an American bassist and comedian from Gibson County, Tennessee. He first played with Bill Monroe in 1938 and was a Blue Grass Boy from July 1940 to 1944, appearing on all of Monroe's Victor recordings and singing lead on his novelty number "The Coupon Song." He stayed on the Grand Ole Opry as a solo comedian. In 1947 he married Blondie Leatherman, and they toured as the Cousin Wilbur and Blondie Brooks Show.
