Barry Mitterhoff
Barry Mitterhoff (September 16, 1952–) is an American bluegrass mandolinist. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he picked up the mandolin as a teenager under the guidance of his aunt Sylvia Reuben, a member of Newark's Workman's Circle Orchestra. While attending Rutgers University, he co-founded Bottle Hill, a regional progressive string band that toured throughout the 1970s. In 1977, he joined banjoist Tony Trischka and guitarist Danny Weiss to form Skyline. Following the band's 1989 dissolution, he established his solo recording footprint with the album Silk City (1992) and subsequent collaborative spin-off trio.
